Each year, the crime rate increases.
What are the causes of crime and
what could be done to prevent this rise in criminal activities?
There has been a significant rise in
the number of crimes happening around us. The government and the community
together must implement strategies in order to keep them under control.
To begin with, there are many
reasons for this sudden increase in the number of crimes. Firstly, poverty is
the biggest motivating factor to commit an offence. Due to unemployment and
inflation many people are unable to earn money and fulfill their basic
necessities of living. Thus, the only way for these people to sustain their
family is by robbery and thefts.
Secondly, children belonging to poor
families do not have access to school education which results in unemployment
and increases their inclination towards crimes. Furthermore, with the trend of
making easy and quick money they get involved in crimes associated with drugs
and human trafficking.
In order to curb the rise in crimes,
government should make strict laws which will inhibit people from committing
offences. Children belonging to poor families should be provided with free
education through government schemes so that they are capable of earning bread
and butter for their families in future. More jobs and vacancies should be
created to ensure people are not unemployed. In addition, we as responsible
citizens should be vigilant and report crimes occurring around us as well as
prevent them from occurring.
To conclude, if the society and government
work together, the problem of rise in crimes can be easily tackled and harmony
can be established.
