37. Education is the biggest barrier in my learning - Einstein.
What do you mean by this? And do you think Einstein was correct in saying that.
To begin with, education grooms an individual into a
desirable person. It gives a person the knowledge to differentiate between the
good and bad. It promotes logical thinking and planning which is a need of
today’s competitive world. Most importantly, it makes an individual with
degrees marketable and opens avenues of employment. Hence, to get the desired
job, one needs to be educated.
Nevertheless, education can be a barrier in the life of
many. It has become so competent that children study for hours after school and
hence do not get time to play or learn other activities. Due to lack of time to
play they do not learn social skills like making friends, team spirit, sharing.
Singing ,dancing and painting are activities that help an individual develop
confidence, overcome stage fear, cognitive skills etc that education does not
teach them. Secondly, education teaches a person to think in a particular
frame. He loses his problem solving capacity as he follows the rules and
concepts taught to him. Furthermore, many people feel dissatisfied with their
work. For example, engineers who are interested in painting, are not able to
pursue it as a career due to lack of time in developing the skills as today’s
education permits no leisure time.
To conclude, I agree
with the statement made by Einstein- Education is the biggest barrier in my
learning. The government today should improvise the educational system so that
children can make complete utilization of their skills and develop new skills.
